Well, the notion of a composer playing a 'game' with the materials of a piece s/he composes, or with the sensibilities of the audience, runs very deep in composer reflections on the nature of composition and the creative process. I have one piece even entitled "Games." This is quite a bit different from the process taking place with Guitar Hero, which, though it might arguably involve the development of some kind of technical skill, is almost entirely mimetic in nature, and as such, involves little in the way of creativity.
