I will have a poster presentation at ICMC on a simple, low-cost spherical loudspeaker array intended to diffuse the "electro" parts of electroacoustic music in a way that causes them to diffuse and physically spatialize according to the acoustics of a given performance room in close to the same way "acoustic" parts do when they are unamplified. This is an attempt to conform acoustic properties of sound through speakers to those of acoustic sources, and is offered as an alternative to the typical and opposite approach of conforming acoustic sound to that coming through conventional loudspeakers with mics or pickups used on the acoustic sources. I look forward to conversation with anyone who is interested.
